Description We are offering a long term contract employment opportunity for an Accountant, focusing on Retail, Inventory Accounting in the Agriculture industry, based in Loveland, Colorado. In this role, you will be responsible for daily analysis of gross margin and inventory reports, working closely with branch and division personnel, and ensuring accurate reporting of margins and inventory transactions. Responsibilities: • Conduct daily analysis of gross margin and inventory reports for one region of the company. • Collaborate with Branch Managers and Branch personnel to ensure accurate reporting of margins and inventory transactions. • Support Regional Finance Managers and Analysts in investigating any inventory transactions resulting in questionable margins or inventory levels. • Prepare monthly internal control reports to ensure proper oversight over inventory transactions. • Execute validity checks before posting inventory adjustments submitted by the branches. • Assist Division personnel with consignment inventory contracts. • Aid Division personnel with required yearly physical counts of inventory at each branch, including participation in physical counts of inventory reconciliation and adjustment of variances. • Perform accounting functions including journal entries, account reconciliation, and transactional review. • Lead special projects and other duties as assigned by Inventory Supervisors or Operations Accounting Management. • Travel for attendance at Regional/Divisional Meetings, visits to Branches, and participation in inventory counts/recounts. Requirements • Proven experience in Reporting and Financial Reporting • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Oracle PeopleSoft, SAP, and would be nice to see PowerBI. • Solid understanding of Operations and Planning in the agriculture industry • Prior experience in Reviewing financial statements and account reconciliations • Knowledge of the software 'About Time' and its applications in accounting • Strong background in Finance and familiarity with Hiring Processes • Experience in Reconciliations and Check Processing, particularly in a retail environment • Skills in Retail and Account Reconciliation • Ability to perform Journal Entries accurately and efficiently • Willingness to Travel and conduct Visits as part of the job role • Consistent Attendance and ability to meet strict deadlines • Strong Research Analysis skills and ability to interpret data • Capability to make Adjustments in financial records as necessary • Understanding of Internal Control measures within the accounting sector • Proficiency in Variance Analysis and its application in inventory accounting • Ability to Lead Special Projects and work with cross-functional teams • Strong Computer Skills, particularly in accounting software Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
