Description We are providing a contract to permanent employment opportunity in the financial services sector, based in Dallas, Texas. The role is for an Accountant III (Senior), where you will apply your expertise in various accounting tasks, including handling customer applications, maintaining customer records, and resolving inquiries. You will also be responsible for monitoring customer accounts and taking appropriate action when necessary.
Responsibilities:
• Accurately process customer credit applications in a timely and efficient manner.
• Maintain precise records of customer credit.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand their needs and requirements, and effectively communicate findings and recommendations.
• Use Excel and advanced analytical skills to accurately complete monthly general ledger reconciliations.
• Proactively research and resolve discrepancies to improve the effectiveness of the accounting reporting team.
• Adjust and enhance current accounting reporting processes, and improve efficiency through automation.
• Process monthly accounting entries with relevant documentation to support monthly close cadence.
• Provide robust variance and composition analysis related to financial statement captions.
• Prepare detailed schedules for internal and external reporting needs, which includes regulatory or management reporting.
• Proficiently use Excel, Access, or other digital tools to analyze and interpret data. Requirements • Proficient in communication with both internal and external stakeholders.
• Ability to document financial transactions and maintain accurate records.
• Skilled in generating reports related to financial performance and trends.
• Expertise in using Microsoft Excel for data analysis and presentation.
• Capable of conducting thorough financial research and data mining.
• Familiarity with 'About Time' software for efficient timekeeping and management.
• Proficient in carrying out reconciliations, ensuring accuracy in financial records.
• Knowledge of general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process.
• Ability to prepare and analyze financial statements.
• Comfortable working in a digital environment and using digital tools.
• Experience in recording journal entries in compliance with financial policies and regulations.
• Ability to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
• Willingness to work onsite as required.
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or equivalent certification is required.
• Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
• Experience in external reporting and regulatory compliance.
• Ability to identify and resolve discrepancies in financial records.
• Skilled in management reporting and providing insights to decision-makers.
• Proficient in language interpretation, particularly in the context of financial terminology.
• Familiarity with monthly close processes and related accounting functions.
• Experience in data mining techniques for financial data analysis.
• Strong composition skills for the creation of financial reports and documents.
• Proficient in managing a range of accounting functions.
• Experience in stakeholder engagement and relationship management.
