SUMMARY: This position is responsible for the accurate preparation and reporting of all cost and other financial information for the plant. This includes gathering and processing information to generate daily and weekly production cost reports, preparing weekly and monthly costs. This position will assist in the preparation of the annual operations and capital budgets and is responsible for ensuring adherence to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and Tyson’s accounting policies.
Responsibilities:
Facilitate the plant self-audit program. This program covers quarterly fixed asset audits, idle asset audits, and capitalization of fixed assets acquired through the CIR process, review of the purchase order process, inventory management reviews, and other areas as needed.Learn the Time and Attendance system to assist with the weekly processing of payroll.Maintain bill of materials and recipes (standards) for products produced at the facility.Assist with reporting needs – daily, weekly, monthly.Learn weekly processes to cover in the absence of the controller. This includes understanding the weekly variances to be able to communicate explanations of variances, generate weekly spend file, and upload of data into the financial system.Actively participate in DMS (Daily Management System). Other duties as assigned.REQUIREMENTS:
Education: Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Experience: 1+ years of Financial Manufacturing experience in a manufacturing environment, ideally within the food industry. Strong understanding of standard costing, variance reporting, and cost accounting practices.
Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Computer Skills: Standard computer skills including Excel, generating spreadsheets, and word processing skills; willingness to learn broad SAP knowledge including purchasing, materials management and product costing.
