The Department of Medicine, Division of Finance has an exciting opportunity for a full-time Accountant 3 to work on the UHealth Campus. The Accountant 3 maintains financial records and ensures that financial transactions are properly recorded. This position safeguards the accuracy of entries to ledger accounts and reconciles subsidiary ledger accounts to the general ledger. CORE JOB FUNCTIONS
Prepares complex balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other financial reports.Analyzes current costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations incurred to predict future revenues and expenses.Oversees, mentors, and assists lower-level accountants.Avoids legal challenges by complying with legal requirements.Protects the department's value by keeping information confidential.Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks, and participating in professional organizations.Prepares and records asset, liability, revenue, and expense entries by compiling and analyzing account information.Creates financial reports for taxes, regulatory agencies, and stockholders.Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.Department Specific Functions

CORE QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in relevant fieldMinimum 4 years of relevant experienceKnowledge, Skills and Attitudes:
Knowledge of generally accepted accounting procedures and principles.Knowledge of budget control methods, policies, and procedures.Ability to prepare financial and accounting records.Ability to analyze, consolidate, and interpret accounting data.Ability to compile, organize, interpret, and communicate accounting data and results concisely.Ability to manage a budget and work within the constraints of that budget.Any appropriate combination of relevant education, experience and/or certifications may be considered.
