Job Summary:
Reporting to the Director of Accounting, prepares and maintains financial records and ensures that financial transactions are properly recorded. Ensures the accuracy of entries to general ledger accounts and reconciles subsidiary ledger accounts to the general ledger. Prepares complex balance sheets, profit and loss statements and other financial reports. Analyzes current costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations incurred to predict future revenues and expenses. Guides or reviews the work of support staff. Works autonomously. May provide a leadership role for the work group through knowledge in the area of specialization. Works on advanced, complex technical projects or business issues requiring technical or industry knowledge.
Job Functions:
Prepare and post assigned journal entries Review journal entries prepared by support staff Responsible for lease accounting system Responsible for Foundation accounting: Deposit Foundation checks Reconcile donations to Foundation team’s tracking system Prepare and post intercompany journal entries between the Hospital and Foundation corporations Compile and present Foundation financial statements Mentor accounting support staff Collaborate with finance team for a timely monthly close Prepare and file state sales & use tax returns Support all treasury functions Assist in preparation of audited financial statements, maintain audit schedules and provide audit support Responsible for accurate accounting of all third party physician billing activity Other duties as assigned from time to time
Minimum Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor of Science in Accounting preferred
Experience: Minimum of 8 years accounting experience preferred
Licensure and/or Certification: None required
Skills: Excellent customer service skills. Must be able to read, write, and communicate proficiently in English. Computer skills required. Ability to maintain confidential information. Strong numerical ability. Extremely organized with high attention to detail and accuracy
