Job Description

Position Summary

The A/R Accountant is responsible for the collection of rents, identification and resolution or escalation of tenant issues, maintenance of tenant database, account analysis, reconciliation, and reporting as applicable. Overall, we seek qualities that display our company’s core values which are Win Together, Build Mutual Trust, Take Initiative, and Act With Integrity.

ResponsibilitiesReview and analyze aged receivables reports and system information to determine priority of tenant contactsPerform collection calls on base rents and other charges on assigned tenant accounts pursuant to established department policies and proceduresProvide customer service to both tenants and internal customers including: Leasing, Property Management, Accounting, etc.Prepare interpretation of lease language for review by Manager for response to tenant inquiriesRecommend action to management (default, litigation, etc.). for tenants who do not remit paymentUtilizing best available tools, reconcile accounts, including the proper allocation of cash to chargesPerform collection calls/action on tenants identified as Unpaid Current, Prior Month, Payment Arrangement and Promissory Note, etc.Maintain comment field in JDE collection modulePerform follow-up actions on a timely basis to ensure tenant commitments are metIdentify tenant issues and resolve or escalate to Manager in a timely mannerOther duties as assigned

Qualifications           

High School diploma or GED requiredBachelor's Degree in Accounting1 year of experience with ERP general ledger (e.g. JD Edwards)Real estate accounting preferredDeadline-focused; organized; problem-solving skillsDemonstrated written/oral communication and documentation skillsBasic/Intermediate Excel skillsDetail oriented
