FOX Television Stations owns and operates 29 full power broadcast television stations in the U.S. These include stations located in 14 of the top 15 largest designated market areas, or DMAs, and duopolies in 11 DMAs, including the three largest DMAs (New York, Los Angeles and Chicago). Of these stations, 18 are affiliated with the FOX Network. In addition to distributing sports, entertainment and syndicated content, our television stations collectively produce approximately 1,200 hours of local news every week. These stations leverage viewer, distributor and advertiser demand for the FOX Network’s national content.

JOB DESCRIPTION

The WTXF Accountant is a critical member of the Finance team and is responsible for executing day-to-day Accounting and Financial Reporting tasks.  This position reports to the Director of Finance and interacts regularly with Station Department Heads and FTS Division personnel to ensure operational activities are accurately forecasted and accounted for. This role is fundamental to many of the Finance department’s core responsibilities, so the ability to meet deadlines while achieving a high level of accuracy is of absolute importance. Essential core competencies for this position include critical thinking, attention to detail, multi-tasking, taking direction, and meeting deadlines; Excel proficiency is also a core technical skillset for this position. 

Key Responsibilities:

Responsible for executing day-to-day Finance / Accounting activities including, but not limited, to preparing various journal entries, reconciling balance sheet accounts, updating forecast models and financial analyses, processing monthly tax filings/payments, partnering with operational colleagues to troubleshoot vendor invoice/payment/coding issues, etc.Perform month-end close tasks related to prepaid assets, opex accruals, operating lease and fixed asset sub-ledgersPrepare & maintain monthly departmental cost analyses; participate in monthly forecast discussions and update financial models accordinglySupport Station leadership in Budget preparation activitiesAssist (as necessary) in executing Station audit requests including annual SOX Self-Assessment processPerform other ad-hoc duties and participate in other special projects as may be deemed necessary

Education and Experience:

Minimum BA in Accounting; thorough knowledge and understanding of GAAPMinimum three (3) years of experience in Accounting or Audit positionFamiliarity with Broadcasting/Cable operations desiredCPA preferred
