The Accountant plays an essential role on the Accounting team.  We are looking for a dynamic individual to be part of our commitment to always evolve and improve the current structure and processes. Reporting to the Accounting Manager, the Accountant undertakes the following RESPONSIBILITIES: 

Support preparation of monthly financial reporting including preparation of journal entries, reconciliation of general ledger accounts and variance analysis primarily focused on Fixed Assets Ensure financial records are maintained in compliance with legislation, accepted accounting standards, policies and procedures Liaise with other departments as required to analyze financial results and forecast future expenditures Support various audits (i.e. annual financial audit and specific state audits) by preparing supporting documents and coordinating with other departments Adhere to accounting & operational internal control procedures in place & identify any control gaps, or opportunities for process improvements Analyze financial information & make recommendations to business stakeholders & operational leaders at all levels Working with other departments to coordinate the flow of information to and from the finance department Assisting with other department needs as it relates to finance and any other ad hoc requests as required

You bring the following QUALIFICATIONS:

Required:

3-5 years related experience in accounting Accounting designation or in process of obtaining CPA or equivalent.  Ability to clearly identify opportunities and develop plans to capitalize on them in a timely manner  Advanced skills in Microsoft Office and Excel (VLOOKUP, pivot tables…)  Strong team player that can drive discussion but is always open to hearing a different view  Self-motivated professional with the ability to focus, prioritize and multitask in a fast paced, high energy and high volume environment  Excitement and a commitment to learn understand and relate to Lush’s core leadership practices  Excellent focus on and attention to detail  Strong problem solving, decision making and delegation capabilities 

Preferred: 

Diploma or undergraduate degree in Commerce, Business Administration, Accounting or related field  Experience with Microsoft Dynamics or similar software Multi-location US and Canada Retail experience would be an asset 

Job Type: Regular, Full Time. Hybrid position. 2-3 days on-site is required.

Job Location: 2-3 days on-site is required. The successful candidate must be located in or around Vancouver, BC.
