Applies principles of accounting to develop, analyze, and interpret financial and accounting concepts used in the preparation of financial statements and reports. Administers and maintains the organization's financial systems; analyzes and verifies the inputs and outputs to those systems. Prepares financial records and provides financial and statistical information to management in compliance with internal and external requirements.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. (The listed duties are the core tasks and responsibilities of the position:)

Prepare journal vouchers to input into the general ledger and document business transactions.

Verify accuracy of records; identify inconsistencies and correct errors in financial entries, documents, and reports.

Support the month-end financial close process, including journal entries, financial statements, variance analyses, reporting, reconciliations, and ad-hoc requests.

Complete reconciliation for general ledger inputs to supporting documentation, daily banking, and monthly balance sheet accounts

Analyze financial and statistical information and prepare financial reports.

Develop and/or optimize process improvements and documentation; monitor compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and company procedures.

Maintain record keeping system to support lease accounting.

Prepare deposits for non-patient cash ensuring that the appropriate general ledger account is recognized.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Experience:

Bachelor's degree (B.S./B.A.) from four-year college or university; and two to four years related experience and/or training.

Language Ability:

Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations.  Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public.

Math Ability:

Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations and permutations.  Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.  Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have proficiency in computer software such as MS Power Point, MS Excel, MS Word; accounting software; inventory software; order processing systems; and database software.
