Salary: $65,500 - $92,125
Schedule: Hybrid schedule available of up to 2 days remote per week after 6 months in the role 

Focus: The Accountant performs professional accounting work involving compilation, consolidation and analysis of financial data and applies accounting techniques and standard practices to the classification and recording of financial transactions.  Work may include any or all of the following:  ledgers and preparation of journal entries; fixed asset or inventory accounting; preparation of trial balance or financial statements; cost accounting; bank account reconciliation.  This is an entry-level position with work performed under supervision.


Accountant Essential Job Functions: Performs general cost accounting activities, such as updating standards in SAP, requiring some insight and depth of understanding; work is generally reviewed at completion for accuracy and soundness. Typical assignments include assisting with journal entries, checking supporting entries, budgeting processes, product costing, physical inventory observations and accurate recording, fixed asset reviews, reporting, analyzing and communicating functional activity and results through well-defined and verifiable steps and analysis. Adheres to the company's accounting policy and practices and U.S. generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). Establishes and maintains ongoing productive working relationships with other business units and functions. Supports Olin’s Continuous Improvement value by proposing new ideas to improve existing work processes. Accountant Minimum Requirements: Bachelor of Science* in Finance, Accounting, or related discipline; Master’s Degree preferred. Certified Management Accountant or Certified Public Accountant preferred.     A minimum 1-year related accounting experience. Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office Products, including Excel complex functions and formulas.  Experience with GAAP standards, SOX requirements and practices, general ledger systems, and auditing practices preferred. Journal entry and balance sheet reconciliation experience in a manufacturing environment preferred; chemical industry preferred.
SAP experience preferred; ERP system experience preferred. Effective communication skills, ability to hold self and others accountable, build trust, and optimize work processes.
