Job Summary

Prepare and process complex accounting transactions; ensure financial subsidiary systems are balanced and reconciled to the general ledger.  Assists with preparation of accounting and financial reports in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Statutory Accounting Practices (SAP).  Assist financial and accounting analysts.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

Accurately balance source systems, payments and other accounting activities through review and reconciliation of various systems.  Research root-cause and recommend appropriate corrective actions eliminate or reduce future errors and inconsistencies.

Analyze and process accounting and financial transactions on source systems and the general ledger.  Maintain other financial reporting records as needed. Review and research out of balance conditions taking corrective action as needed.  Maintain internal controls over processes, ensure compliance with internal controls over processes, and ensure compliance with corporate and department policies and procedures.

Coordinate and interact with a broad range of internal & external customers to answer or direct questions in order to facilitate customer needs.  Assist internal customers in the resolution of accounting and reporting issues. Provide superior customer service in response to written and verbal requests. Participates in relevant operational improvement initiatives or projects as assigned.

Skills and Background You’ll Need

Experience:  1+ years of professional experience in accounting, or the equivalent combination of education and/or relevant experience. 

Working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), LAN and mainframe operating environments, including financial spreadsheet applications.

Education:  Associate’s Degree in Accounting or related field, or equivalent work experience.

Please note - the salary range for this role is listed below. In addition to salary, our package includes incentive plan participation and comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision and retirement benefits, as well as an initial PTO accrual of 164 hours per year. Employees also receive 11 paid holidays and 2 wellness days per year.

 

Eligibility to participate in an incentive program is subject to the rules governing the program and plan. Any award depends on various factors, including individual and organizational performance.

Salary Range:

20.43 - 29.81
