JOB SUMMARY:
Supervises, tracks, and evaluates the day-to-day activities of the Accounting Department. Establishes financial status by developing and implementing systems for collecting, analyzing, verifying, and reporting information to the Plant Controller. Works closely with the financial management team to ensure the company’s financial future.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:
Weekly plant billing and workpapersDaily production reconciliations and reportingResponsible for weekly packaging reportsAssist in overseeing the daily operations of the Accounting Department, including but not limited to month and year-end processes, accounts payable/receivable, the general ledger, payroll, utilities, budget, and other functions of the department.Coordinates and completes annual audits.Establishes and enforces proper accounting methods, policies, and principles.Improves systems and procedures and initiates corrective actions when needed.Supervises the general ledger to ensure all financial deadlines are met.Monitors and analyzes accounting data and produces financial reports or statements.Establishes and maintains fiscal files and records to document transactions.Provides recommendations to management on financial strategies and plans.Assists in the development and implementation of new procedures and features to enhance the workflow of the department.Works with Controller on creation of yearly budget and monitoring variance to budget during the yearEnsures an accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year end close.Manages the GRIR report – Received not Invoice reportWorks closely with the Accounting Specialist on all AP functionsMay assume other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Related Field requiredProven working experience in accounting or finance field. 2-3 years of AP experience is preferred.Advanced computer skills in MS Office, accounting software, and database managementProven ability to manipulate and interpret large amounts of dataAbility to speak, read, and write EnglishGood verbal and written communication skillsExcellent math skillsMust be well-organized with good attention to detailDisplay strong work ethic and positive attitudeMust maintain a helpful and professional attitude and appearance
