Accountant Job Description

The Accountant will provide support with a variety of accounting activities and related tasks. The Accountant will be responsible for re-allocating invoices as well as G/L account analysis affecting financial programs within the organization.

Helps re-allocate monthly expensesReviews general ledger account and department classifications for all affiliates entitiesPerforms general account analysisPrepares accrued and prepaid schedulesAssists with monthly bank reconciliationsVarious other analysis as requestedVarious ad hoc reports as requestedMaintain confidentiality of sensitive information Qualifications

Accountant Requirements and Qualifications

Possession of a bachelor’s degree in accounting requiredStaff Accountant 4-6 years of experiencePossession of strong organizational skillsExcellent verbal and written communication skills. Possess exceptional interpersonal communication skillsAbility to work independently on assigned tasks as well as to accept direction on given assignmentsAble to work collectively with other team membersMS Office skills essentialStrong MS Excel skills requiredKnowledge of Great Plain 2018 accounting software a plus

 

Knowledge:

Accounting — Knowledge of accounting principles and practices, banking and the analysis and reporting of financial data.Clerical — Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, designing forms, and other office procedures and terminology.English Language — Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.Customer and Personal Service — Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.Computers and Electronics — Knowledge of electronic equipment, and computer hardware and software, including applications.

 

Work Activities:

Communicating with Supervisors, Peers, or Subordinates — Providing information to supervisors, co-workers, and subordinates by telephone, in written form, e-mail, or in person.Interacting With Computers — Using computers and computer systems (including hardware and software) to program, set up functions, enter data, or process information.Excel Skills – Proficiency with common Excel functions like vlookup and pivot tables preferrable.Organizing, Planning, and Prioritizing Work — Developing specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and accomplish your work.Evaluating Information to Determine Compliance with Standards — Using relevant information and individual judgment to determine whether events or processes comply with laws, regulations, or standards.Getting Information — Observing, receiving, and otherwise obtaining information from all relevant sources.Processing Information — Compiling, coding, categorizing, calculating, tabulating, auditing, or verifying information or data.Documenting/Recording Information — Entering, storing, or maintaining information in written or electronic form.
