WesleyLife is looking for a dedicated **Accountant** to join our team and contribute to the financial success of WesleyLife. You’ll play a key role in managing our financial operations, ensuring accuracy, and supporting leadership in making informed decisions.
**A Day in the Life as an Accountant with WesleyLife:**
+ Lead monthly financial closings, prepare journal entries, and oversee cash disbursements and tax liabilities.
+ Master the financial reporting system, train new staff, and support the existing team with report writing.
+ Prepare internal reports for management, summarizing financial performance, including census and productivity.
+ Monitor financial margins, investigate discrepancies, and ensure accurate reporting.
+ Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and supporting Executive Directors in completing annual budgets.
+ Administer the financial system (Cognos), manage banking relationships, and oversee electronic user rights.
+ Play a key role in annual tax returns, insurance renewals, and external audits.
+ Ensure accuracy of property, equipment, and depreciation schedules.
+ Review and enhance internal controls and accounting policies for efficiency and compliance.
**What We’re Looking For:**
+ Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, or Accounting (advanced degree/certification is a plus).
+ 2+ years of accounting experience, preferably in healthcare or senior living.
+ Strong understanding of GAAP, nonprofit accounting, and cost accounting principles.
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and financial reporting systems.
+ Proven ability to build relationships and collaborate with leaders to meet strategic goals.
+ Excellent communication skills to simplify complex financial concepts and work effectively across teams.
