Aplin has partnered with a Calgary based accounting firm who is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Accountant for a permanent role. The ideal candidate brings experience as an accountant, either in Canada or internationally, and embodies commitment to proactive, insightful client service. While CPA designation is not required, the role demands excellent communication skills, a curious mindset, and a strong willingness to learn.
Key Responsibilities:Manage daily accounting operations, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reporting.Provide a client-focused approach by explaining complex financial and tax concepts in plain language.Collaborate with clients to understand their unique business challenges, uncover insights, and propose innovative taxation and financial solutions.Maintain familiarity with accounting and tax software tools such as QuickBooks, Dext/Veryfi, TaxCycle, or Caseware, and demonstrate adaptability in learning new tools.Ensure compliance with applicable tax and accounting regulations.Qualifications:5+ years of experience as an accountant, either domestically or internationally, with a strong foundation in the debit/credit system.Strong communication skills and a friendly demeanor, with the ability to build trust and rapport with clients.A proactive and curious approach to client challenges, with a focus on uncovering insights and driving better outcomes.Familiarity with QuickBooks, Dext/Veryfi, TaxCycle, Caseware, or similar software is an asset, but eagerness to learn new tools is essential.Eligible to work in Canada as a citizen, permanent resident, or open work permit holder.
