Job Description
We are currently hiring an accountant in the healthcare space in Central Maryland. The ideal candidate will maintain general ledger, prepare financial schedules, write journal entries, and manage cash schedules. This role requires processing monthly close of all practices and management companies accurately and timely, ensuring compliance with Management Services Agreements, and maintaining confidentiality of all patient, medical staff, finance, and cost-effective healthcare delivery information.
ResponsibilitiesMaintain general ledger including preparing financial schedules and writing journal entries.Inspect account status and transfer cash as necessary to cover disbursements.Process monthly close of all practices and management companies accurately and timely.Ensure accruals are appropriately made each month.Review G/L coding on invoices before checks are released to ensure accurate coding.Work with management to obtain all necessary information and explanations.Ensure compliance with Management Services Agreements for all practices.Accurately account for new practices including opening balance sheet and subsequent adjustments.Reconcile all balance sheet accounts monthly and support by valid detail.Review monthly reporting package for all practices for accuracy, reasonableness, and completeness.Ensure timely submission of reporting packages for review.Respond to inquiries in a timely manner and meet corporate reporting deadlines.Provide various practice-specific reporting as requested.Ensure accuracy and completeness of fixed assets records including depreciation.Implement new fixed asset system and determine and record discounts/reserves for practices as necessary.Assist in the annual budgeting process for all practices.Maintain working knowledge of applicable laws and regulations as they relate to assigned responsibilities.Additional Skills & QualificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting requiredTwo to five years of fiscal management experiencePrior healthcare experience preferredLocal talent preferredWork Environment
The role requires working four days in the office at first, then shifting to three days. The work environment emphasizes confidentiality and the use of various accounting technologies and systems. The team is rebuilding under an experienced controller
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $31.25 - $38.50
