Description We are looking for an Accountant for a trusted financial institution based in Newark, Delaware. We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to join a finance team The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. The accountant will work closely with management to provide essential financial insights that support decision-making processes and ensure the bank’s financial operations run smoothly. Key Responsibilities: + Financial Reporting: Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports, in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). + General Ledger Management: Record, reconcile, and post journal entries, ensuring accuracy and compliance with internal controls and policies. + Month-End/Year-End Closures: Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes, including reconciliations, account analysis, and preparation of necessary documentation. + Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that financial records adhere to banking regulations, industry standards, and internal controls. Assist with audits and regulatory reviews. + Accounts Payable/Receivable: Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring accurate invoicing, timely payments, and proper documentation. + Budgeting & Forecasting: Assist in preparing budgets, forecasts, and financial projections, working closely with management to evaluate financial performance and trends. + Cash Management: Monitor cash flow and liquidity, ensuring that the bank’s financial obligations are met in a timely manner. Requirements Qualifications: + Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or CMA certification is a plus). + Experience: Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience, preferably in a banking or financial services environment. + Skills: + Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards. + Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel expertise required). + Experience with bank reconciliation, financial statement preparation, and regulatory compliance. + Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. + Attention to detail and ability to work with minimal supervision.
