**Job Description** **General Purpose:** SEMO Tank (owned by Dairy Farmers of America) sells, leases, and repairs tank trailers and offers a vast inventory of related parts for resale. The accountant shall achieve and maintain a thorough understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structure in order to complete accurate and timely reporting of the monthly financial statements. This role will perform budget and expense allocation processes, work with management to establish and maintain company metrics, and oversee compliance with the company capital expenditure and fixed asset policy. **Job Duties and Responsibilities:** + Assist SEMO management in the fixed asset procurement process + Update and maintain SEMO fixed assets documentation and reporting in accordance with company policy + Assist in preparing the annual budget and monthly budget versus actual analysis + Assist with the expense allocation process at both the location and departmental level + Create, modify, and maintain company metrics for timely distribution to management for review and analysis + Participate in the preparation and analysis of the monthly financials, including recording journal entries to adjust and reclass accounting activity as required + Exhibit the values and ethics of Dairy Farmers of America through honesty, discretion, and sound judgment + The requirements herein are intended to describe the general nature and level of work performed by employee, but is not a complete list of responsibilities, duties, and skills required. Other duties may be assigned as required. **Travel:** 5%-15% (1-3 times per year) **Requirements** **Minimum Requirements:** **_Education and Experience_** + Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required + 3-5 years of accounting experience required + 7+ years of accounting experience preferred + Certification and/or License – N/A **_Knowledge, Skills and Abilities_** + Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook + Proficient with SAP or similar ERP systems. Experience with SAP is highly preferred + Able to efficiently prioritize, plan, and organize workload + Able to work with accuracy and attention to detail + Able to monitor own work to ensure quality + Able to demonstrate a friendly and professional demeanor while interacting with customers, vendors, and other personnel + Able to read, write, and speak English An Equal Opportunity Employer
