Job Description
Engages in activities related to financial analysis, reporting, and managing the Fixed Asset ledger. Applies accounting principles through reconciliation of key general ledger accounts and preparation of journal entries. Partners closely with key internal stakeholders, other accountants, and operations personnel to support day-to-day activities.
ResponsibilitiesPost daily, monthly, and annual recurring transactions to the general ledger.Complete month-end procedures such as calculating estimates for prepaid assets, receivables, and accruals of expenses.Record monthly expenses related to the company's operating and capital leases.Manage Fixed Assets once placed into service including depreciation runs, monthly reconciliation of balance sheet and associated expense, and management of disposals.Collect appropriate data for preparation of sales, use, and property tax returns.Prepare monthly cost center reports by business unit and distribute to various individuals within the organization.Prepare periodic reports and related analysis for internal and external customers.Engage in timely, accurate, and relevant financial information and general ledger account reconciliations for month-end close to ensure financial statements (internal and external) are prepared accurately, consistently, and in a timely fashion consistent with U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).Maintain open item managed general ledger balances within SAP through systematic reconciliations.Troubleshoot systematic and accounting issues that arise from daily and monthly job responsibilities.Apply an understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structure.Execute ongoing and project-specific SAP testing to evaluate accounting impact of configuration changes and updates prior to placing into production.Interface with various business units to ensure accounting activities are accurately reflected and properly flow through the SAP ERP system in accordance with GAAP.Liaise with the Finance department, including FP&A and Operations Accounting groups, for monthly reporting and ad-hoc inquiries.Assist management in identifying opportunities to streamline or implement new procedures to increase timeliness, efficiency, and improve the accuracy of financial records and reporting.Assist with audit coordination through preparation of year-end audit schedules.Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and participate in interdepartmental and cross-functional projects as necessary.Support budget and forecasting activities.Essential SkillsBachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance.1-2 years of progressive Accounting or Finance experience.Current GAAP knowledge.Previous experience with contemporary ERP systems, preferably SAP or comparable.Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Outlook); advanced skills in Microsoft Excel; experience with Microsoft Visio, Microsoft Access.Work Environment
Ideal candidate would be onsite to get up to speed. The company has a hybrid schedule they can work through with the candidate.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $38.00
