We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to join our team. The successful candidate will assist in the month and year-end closing process, prepare and process journal entries, and lead inventory cycle counts. Additionally, you will support continuous process improvements within the accounting department and assist the Controller with production cost accounting and system implementation.
Responsibilities
+ Assist in month and year-end closing process for preparation of financial statements.
+ Prepare and process journal entries, including payroll, depreciation, lease, prepaid expense, accrued expense, etc.
+ Lead weekly and monthly inventory cycle counts throughout the plant and perform inventory reconciliation.
+ Review and analyze Purchase Order-A/P Invoice costs by project.
+ Assist the Controller with production cost accounting and system implementation as needed.
+ Support continuous process improvements with the accounting department.
+ Assist the Controller with building and organizing internal P & L by business segment.
+ Travel locally between manufacturing sites as needed to support the full accounting department.
+ Process and manage accounts payable (A/P) transactions with accuracy.
+ Resolve A/P discrepancies with the appropriate department internally.
+ Prepare and process the weekly check run along with wire and ACH payments.
+ Maintain and update vendor files including contact information, payment terms, and tax documentation (W-9, tax-exemption forms, etc.).
+ Update and maintain the fixed assets schedule and depreciation.
+ Prepare monthly sales and use tax filings.
+ Prepare month-end and year-end schedules.
+ Cross-train as a backup in other areas – accounts receivable, payroll, bank reconciliations.
+ Engage with operations on the shop floor to completely understand all facets of the business.

Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
+ 3-5 years of experience within accounting in a manufacturing environment
+ Experience with cost accounting (preferred but not required)
+ Familiarity with Epicore or SAP (preferred)
+ Knowledge of accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR)
+ Flexibility and effective time management skills
Work Environment
This position is based onsite at our Solon facility, Monday through Friday. You will be working in a manufacturing environment and may need to travel locally between manufacturing sites as needed.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $75000.00 - $85000.00/yr.
