About the Family & Social Services Administration (FSSA):
FSSA was established by the Indiana General Assembly in 1991 to consolidate and better integrate the delivery of human services by state government. FSSA is a health care and social services funding agency. Ninety-four percent of the agency’s total budget is paid to thousands of service providers ranging from major medical centers to a physical therapist working with a child or adult with a developmental disability. The seven care divisions in FSSA administer services to more than 1.5 million Hoosiers. FSSA’s mission is to compassionately serve Hoosiers of all ages and connect them with social services, health care and their communities.
Role Overview:
This role completes the request for daily federal reimbursement totaling more than 15 billion dollars per year. Attention to detail to ensure accurate amounts are requested is required. Basic functions of the job are similar each day, but problem resolution is needed when unusual events occur.
Salary Statement:
The salary for this position traditionally starts at $47,320.00 but may be commensurate with education or work experience.
A Day in the Life:
This position conducts federal draws, that are requests of federal grant funds to reimburse eligible expenses.
The essential functions of this role are as follows:
+ Retrieve federal share of grant expenditure form the accounting system.
+ Access various federal grant management systems.
+ Complete electronic request within systems for federal grant reimbursement.
+ Reconcile requested reimbursement to federal expenses.
+ Complete Report of Collection and deposit information.
+ Maintain federal fund sources
+ Review and resolve any discrepancies in federal fund data between State and federal financial systems.
+ Analyze business operations, trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations to project future revenues and expenses or to provide advice.
+ Communicate critical information on federal funds availability to appropriate parties
+ Participate in the implementation of new PeopleSoft financial tools and processes involved in federal fund cash management
+ Respond to inquires from federal and State auditors
+ Assist in compilation and completion of federal cash management reports.
+ Prepare reports for reconciliation of grant funded accounts.
+ Serve as liaison between agency and the federal government.
+ Performs other related duties as assigned.

This position is exempt from overtime compensation for additional work hours which may be required to complete essential functions or other assigned work. Exempt employees may work more than 75 hours in a pay period without additional compensation and must report a minimum of 75 hours per pay period of work hours and/or paid leave taken to receive their base biweekly salary.

You must meet the following requirements to be considered for employment:
+ Specialized knowledge of theories, principles, and practices of public accounting.
+ Specialized knowledge of agency organization and function.
+ Specialized knowledge of federal and state accounting and bookkeeping laws, policies, and procedures.
+ Specialized knowledge of automated accounting systems.
+ Ability to solve complex accounting methods and procedures to meet agency needs.
+ Ability to prepare budgets.
+ Ability to prepare and interpret complex financial statements and reports.
+ Ability to reconcile discrepancies between accounts.
+ Effective communication skills.
+ Able to perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
