Job Description
The Accountant's work focuses on administering, designing, and ensuring compliance with general accounting, cash management, fixed asset, and audit processes while operating with limited supervision. The Accountant ensures the accuracy of entries to ledger accounts and reconciles subsidiary ledger accounts to the general ledger. Additionally, the Accountant assists in the control of fixed asset planning and acquisitions, reconciles general ledger balances to identify improper charges, validates transactions, and ensures accurate and timely recording of financial transactions.
ResponsibilitiesPrepare accruals and other adjusting entries.Identify and research account discrepancies.Investigate, resolve, and report any inconsistencies or improprieties to the accounting supervisor/manager.Review and interpret accounting policies and procedures.Perform accounting analysis such as Balance Sheet Accounts, Expense and Accruals, Department Expense Analysis, Prepaid and Insurance.Prepare schedules and reporting as assigned.Assist and coordinate ad hoc projects in Fixed Assets to improve effectiveness and efficiency.Monitor the Daily Cash Position (Disbursements and Receipts).Assist with Construction in Process recording and follow-up.Record new and disposed Fixed Assets.Manage Customer Invoicing.Record Accounts Payable invoices, verify 3-way match, and submit invoices for payment.Conduct Accounts Payable research as needed.Essential SkillsMinimum of 2+ years of General Accounting or similar experience.Experience with SAP.Strong ability to organize and coordinate multiple tasks and communicate information in a timely fashion.Strong attention to customer needs while maintaining a high level of discretion and confidentiality.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Organizational skills.Mathematical and analysis skills.Detail-oriented and highly motivated.Ability to work in a team environment and as a strong individual contributor.Advanced skills with Microsoft Office Suite, including Access, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.Proficiency in English, including reading, writing, and speaking.Additional Skills & QualificationsAccounting knowledge in financial review and analysis experience.Exposure to SAP and Power BI is a plus.Work Environment
The accounting team consists of approximately 15 people divided into 3 different accounting groups. The work schedule is Monday to Friday, with a hybrid model expected after training. Employees are expected to come in 3 times a week. The standard work hours are 8am to 5pm, totaling 40 hours per week.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $34.00 - $34.00/hr.
