Description Robert Half is currently offering an exciting long-term contract opportunity for an Accountant based in Tarrytown, New York. This role is ideal for professionals passionate about maintaining accurate and efficient financial records while supporting key operations. Key Responsibilities: + Performing bank reconciliations for investment funds. + Using tools like Raiser's Edge and Excel to carry out accounting tasks. + Managing Accounts Receivable (AR) deferrals. + Administering payroll taxes and overseeing payroll registrations. + Assisting in audit preparation by ensuring accurate financial documentation is maintained. + Supervising the billing process, with significant support from student services. + Applying GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) to all accounting-related tasks. + Reconciling and balancing balance sheet accounts. + Overseeing both Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) processes. Requirements • Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or related field. • Proven experience in accounting roles within the higher education sector. • Proficient in accounting functions and financial reporting. • Familiarity with Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) processes. • Ability to perform auditing tasks with extreme attention to detail. • Demonstrable experience with balance sheet account preparation and management. • Skilled in performing bank reconciliations efficiently and accurately. • Knowledge of payroll taxes and related regulations. • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. • High level of integrity and confidentiality. • Commitment to continuous detail-oriented development in the accounting field.
