Description We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant in Ann Arbor. This role is 100% onsite. Ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of accounting principles and practices, with a proven track record in account reconciliation and general ledger accounting. This role also requires proficiency in accounting software, and a solid grasp of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles). As the Accountant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy of financial reporting and compliance with regulatory standards. Duties • Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements in accordance with GAAP. • Perform account reconciliations to ensure the integrity of financial data. • Manage accounts payable processes, including invoice processing and payment approvals. • Oversee general ledger accounting activities, ensuring all transactions are recorded accurately. • Collaborate with external auditors during audits and provide necessary documentation. • Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement. • Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts based on financial Human Resource Responsibilities • Manage payroll for team (approx 40 employees) • Complete and file OSHA and other federally required human resources reports • Manage employee files and records • Manage and administer benefits package and benefit vendor relationships Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; • Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or public accounting. • Strong knowledge of financial concepts and principles, including debits and credits. • Experience with account reconciliation processes and general ledger maintenance. • Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy. • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively convey financial information. • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
