Job Title: Accountant
Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accountant to join our team. This role involves assisting in the month and year-end closing processes, preparing and processing journal entries, managing accounts payable transactions, and leading inventory cycle counts. The ideal candidate will have the opportunity to make significant improvements and add value to our financial operations.

ResponsibilitiesAssist in month and year-end closing processes for the preparation of financial statements.Prepare and process journal entries, including payroll, depreciation, lease, prepaid expense, and accrued expense.Handle accounts payable duties for 8-16 hours a week, including processing transactions, resolving discrepancies, and preparing weekly check runs.Lead weekly and monthly inventory cycle counts and perform inventory reconciliations.Review and analyze Purchase Order and A/P Invoice costs by project.Assist the Controller with production cost accounting and system implementation as needed.Support continuous process improvements within the accounting department.Help organize internal P&L by business segment.Travel locally between manufacturing sites as needed to support the accounting department.Maintain and update vendor files, including contact information, payment terms, and tax documentation.Prepare monthly sales and use tax filings.Prepare month-end and year-end schedules.Cross-train as a backup in areas such as accounts receivable, payroll, and bank reconciliations.Engage with operations on the shop floor to fully understand all facets of the business.Essential SkillsStrong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.Experience with journal entries, month-end close processes, and financial statement preparation.Proficiency in general ledger maintenance and cost analysis.Ability to manage accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.Familiarity with ERP systems, such as Epicore or SAP.Excellent time management and organizational skills.Additional Skills & QualificationsBachelor's degree in accounting or finance is preferred; candidates with a two-year degree will also be considered.2-5 years of accounting experience in a manufacturing environment.Experience with cost accounting is advantageous but not required.Flexibility and adaptability in managing various tasks and responsibilities.Work Environment

The position is onsite at our Solon facility, Monday through Friday. The work environment is supportive and family-oriented, with a collaborative atmosphere. The Controller, who has been with the company for two years, is approachable and fosters a positive work culture.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $70000.00 - $75000.00/yr.
