Job Title: Accountant
Job Description

The candidate will be responsible for accounts payable, receivable, customer service, and office management tasks. This individual must be passionate, committed, and dedicated to the quality of our product, service, and relationship with our vendors and customers. This position requires above-average attention to detail, mathematical acumen, and the ability to quickly process information and act accordingly. The candidate will work closely with the plant manager and report directly to the CFO.

ResponsibilitiesProvide ongoing administrative assistance to the CFO.Receive and distribute purchase orders to appropriate departments.Monitor and report any changes or adjustments to the purchase orders.Generate Bill of Lading & Packaging Slips based on customer specifications.Collect proof of shipping and delivery.Maintain accounts receivable, reconciling deposits with the amounts due.Communicate with customers about any issues dealing with payment, service, product, and more.Make deposits to the bank.Receive and get approval for all invoices.Correctly code invoices to the proper account in QuickBooks.Confirm the accuracy of invoices and purchase orders generated by the purchasing manager.Maintain an accurate accounts payable schedule and generate accurate payments.Maintain outstanding check balances.Ensure daily, weekly, and monthly financial responsibilities are completed with detail, accuracy, completeness, and timeliness.Open and sort daily mail.Maintain and order office supplies inventory as needed.Perform all other duties as assigned by the supervisor.Collaborate with other departments such as human resources, production, quality assurance, and safety when needed.Maintain all permits and licenses such as Business License, Processor Registration, Fire Permit, etc.Become HACCP certified and actively participate in weekly and monthly HACCP meetings.Participate in third-party Food Safety Audits providing clerical support to departments as needed.Essential SkillsGeneral accounting knowledge with a minimum of 2 years of previous accounting experience.Ability to meet deadlines.Minimum typing speed of 45 WPM.Strong verbal and written communication skills.Proficiency in Office Suite and QuickBooks.Ability to problem solve.Ability to make decisions in a timely and effective manner.Ability to work under pressure.Ability to work with little or no supervision.Positive attitude, honesty, neat and clean appearance, punctuality, pride in work, and team player mentality.Willingness to learn.Additional Skills & QualificationsHigh school diploma or GED equivalent required.AA Degree or equivalent of General Office Degree is preferred.Two years’ experience as an executive administrative assistant.Work Environment

The candidate will work in a manufacturing facility, specifically in an office setting.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $75000.00 - $85000.00/yr.
