Accountant (Consulting Engagement)
Job Title: Accountant (Consulting Engagement)Job Description The primary responsibility for the Staff Accountant will be to perform account reconciliations to clean up years of discrepancies, ensuring those account reconciliations are completed accurately and in accordance with GAAP/SOX requirements. In addition, this person may be called on to support the month-end close process, journal entries, and general ledger. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES (Include but not limited to): + Support the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process to include posting/reviewing journal entries, recording applicable accruals, and preparing/reviewing account reconciliations. + Ensure compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and relevant regulatory requirements; recommend improvements to minimize financial risk and remediate deficiencies. + Prepare timely and accurate financial reports in compliance with GAAP + Conduct regular review of accounting processes to identify areas for efficiencies. + Perform in-depth analysis of financial data, identifying trends, discrepancies, and variances in actual results versus forecast/budget. + Prepare and review periodic and ad hoc reports/analysis to all levels of management following up timely on questions.
