Title: Accountant (Cost Accounting)
Location: Lake Jackson, TX

Salary: $74,100 - $95,000 
Schedule: Hybrid schedule of 2 days work from home is available

Focus: The Accountant is responsible for performing professional accounting work involving compilation, consolidation and analysis of financial data and apply accounting techniques and standard practices to the classification and recording of financial transactions. This position will be responsible for daily accounting activities within the Freeport manufacturing site including maintenance, site logistics, EH&S, etc.

Accountant Essential Job Functions:

Responsible for overall daily accounting activities of the supporting departments within the Freeport manufacturing site including maintenance, Site logistics, EH&S, etc. Support the M&E closing process (journal entry preparation) and monthly reporting. Specifics of job content will vary to include assisting with journal entries, checking supporting entries, budgeting processes, physical inventory observations and accurate recording of MRO inventory, fixed asset reviews of the supporting departments, reporting, analyzing and communicating functional activity and results through well-defined and verifiable steps and analysis. Assists department managers in financial analysis necessary for decision making. Contributes to and participates in continuous improvement and productivity ideas that drives value for the businesses. Accountant Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's or Master's Degree* in Finance, Accounting, or related discipline.  Master's Degree* preferred.   CMA or CPA certifications preferred. Minimum 3 years of prior related work experience; manufacturing accounting experience strongly preferred.  Background experience to include Accounting Theory, GAAP and SOX policies and procedures, general ledger systems and auditing practices and public accounting. Experience working for a large manufacturer and/or government contractor is strongly preferred. Learning Agility skills that demonstrate self-awareness, quick and agile learning abilities, managing ambiguity, situational adaptability, change management, and resourcefulness. Demonstrated leadership skills, industrious mindset with ability to drive results, collaboration and relationship management, manage complexity/problem-solving, and possess effective interpersonal skills preferred. Demonstrated Microsoft Office Products experience; SAP or other enterprise systems experience preferred. Olin experience in a relevant position preferred.
