Accountant - Entry Level
Description Our client is a well-established company in the construction industry, known for delivering high-quality projects with financial integrity and operational efficiency. They are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Entry-Level Accountant to join their finance team and support various accounting functions related to project finances and daily operations. The Entry-Level Accountant will assist with financial record-keeping, reconciliations, and reporting while ensuring accuracy and compliance with industry standards. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or early-career professional looking to gain hands-on experience in construction accounting. Key Responsibilities: + Assist with accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) processes, including invoice processing and payment tracking. + Prepare and post journal entries and maintain accurate general ledger records. + Reconcile bank statements and project-related accounts to ensure accuracy. + Support the month-end and year-end closing process. + Help track and allocate job costs, subcontractor payments, and project expenses. + Assist in financial reporting and budget preparation. + Ensure compliance with GAAP, industry regulations, and company policies. + Work closely with project managers and finance teams to support construction project accounting. + Assist in audit preparation and provide documentation as needed. + Identify and recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency. Requirements + Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. + 0-2 years of accounting experience (internship or construction-related experience is a plus). + Basic understanding of GAAP and financial principles. + Experience or familiarity with construction accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage 300, Viewpoint, Procore) is a plus. + Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial tools. + Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills. + Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. + Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and meeting deadlines.
