Description We are offering a short term contract employment opportunity for an Accountant - Entry Level in the non-profit sector, based in New York. In this role, you will be primarily responsible for maintaining financial records and assisting with daily accounting activities. Responsibilities: • Accurately download and manage gift batch information from the main donor database into spreadsheets. • Ensure accurate data entry and document review for gift information in the General Ledger (NetSuite). • Handle the preparation and completion of adjusting journal entries. • Collaborate effectively with the Gift Processing Team and a Senior Accountant. • Carry out bank reconciliation tasks. • Respond to any ad-hoc assignments effectively. • Use Financial Edge and spreadsheet software for various accounting tasks. • Conduct detailed review of financial transactions and records. Requirements • Applicant must have a minimum of 2 years of experience in the accounting field, preferably in the non-profit sector, with a focus on detail-oriented tasks. • Proficiency in using Financial Edge and NetSuite software platforms is essential for this role. • Candidate must have demonstrable experience in creating and adjusting journal entries. • Experience in gift processing is required, given the nature of the non-profit sector. • Proficiency in performing bank reconciliations is necessary. • The role requires excellent data entry skills with a high degree of accuracy. • Candidate must be capable of conducting detailed reviews of financial records and documents. • Document review skills are necessary to ensure accurate record-keeping and compliance. • This entry-level position is ideal for candidates who are detail-oriented and have a strong understanding of accounting principles.
