Accountant II

Position Description

Responsible for the overall accuracy of revenue recognition for Splitter Processing Plant under the Products Pipelines Segment.Prepare invoices and month-end journal entries based on contract specifications.Responsible for Transmix transportation payments– this involves review of the contract terms, matching with inventory, account coding, and price formulas.Responsible for AR collection for Splitter processing plant; Follow up with customers and business development on escalated issues impacting the timely collection on accounts.Prepare bi-weekly margin and transportation forecast by gathering information from operations and business development to update pertinent financial models.Perform monthly variance analysis on recorded margin comparing actuals against budget and forecast.Prepare balance sheet reconciliations in Blackline as assigned by Accounting Director.Prepare SOX-related controls and provide adequate support.Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and ASC 606 compliance.Monitor and analyze accounting data to identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for improvement.Perform quarterly income statement and balance sheet flux analysis for auditors.Assist with internal and external auditors’ requests as needed.Perform additional ad hoc duties as assigned by Accounting Director.

Education Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required

Experience/Specific Knowledge Requirements

Minimum of 3+ years previous accounting or finance related work experience.Advanced proficiency level in Microsoft Office applications including but not limited to Outlook, Word, and Excel.Must possess strong collaborative skills.Must be detail-oriented, highly organized and self-motivated.Must be able to successfully perform multiple tasks simultaneously, and often with strict deadlines, while maintaining a high quality of work productMust possess strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate with all functional groups and levels, both internal and externalStrong analytical skills and logical thought processes, with ability to solve complex problems through solution-oriented analysis.Must be able to work overtime during high volume periods, including but not limited to month/quarter/year-end close

Hybrid work schedule (Monday – Wednesday: office, Thursday – Friday: remote); additional work schedule options available (9/80 or half day Fridays)
