Highlights of the jobWe are excited to announce an opening for a full-time Accountant II at our corporate office in the Greater Phoenix Area.As an Accountant II, you will play a crucial role in our finance team by compiling, reviewing, and analyzing accounting and financial information. Your responsibilities will include maintaining a complete and accurate capital asset listing, managing depreciation in the general ledger and sub-ledgers, and conducting financial analysis. You will also handle AFUDC, IFRS, regulatory and tax calculations, and explanations, as well as prepare managerial and analytical reports and financial statements for our American subsidiaries.Additionally, you will provide consolidation, analysis, and reporting for our Regional and Corporate teams, supporting financial reporting, tax, and rate cases.If you are detail-oriented, analytical, and ready to contribute to a dynamic team, we encourage you to apply and become a part of our growing company.Apply today and take the next step in your career with EPCOR USA!What you’d be responsible forPrepares, analyzes, and reviews asset depreciation calculations. Assures adherence to regulations.  Analyzes results and prepares variance analysis / explanations according to company policy and practices. Works with regional finance teams, operational representatives and corporate accounting to deliver effective analysis of actual results.  Analyzes asset viability and accounting for expenditures or rate case filing requirements.Assists in ensuring accuracy of financial statements and technical compliance to US GAAP, Regulatory bodies, Internal Controls, and Company policy by review, verification and analysis. Participates in directing the monthly close process towards complete accuracy.Provide through analysis and collaboration with business partners, understands business requirements and/or operational issues that may impact the financial statement and incorporates them as appropriate.Analyzes balance sheet accounts to ensure all items are clearly identified, aged, and have support to stand on their own.  Performs key account analysis and/or prepares key account reconciliations.Conducts and analyzes special studies and develops or recommends accounting or rate case analysis / reporting methods and procedures.  Performs more complex analysis on accounting issues as needed.Compiles or assists in preparing schedules which analyze account activity on a quarterly and year-end basis which are incorporated into internal and external reporting.Compiles data and assists in the annual audit and to create financial statements and schedules to be included in annual commission reports for assigned states.  Provides technical expertise for regulatory and accounting matters.Identifies and helps develop process improvements to increase efficiency and effectiveness of current activities. Conducts individual mentoring and group training on these new processes as well as current processes to ensure compliance.  What’s required to be successfulBachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance.CPA, CMA, or CFA preferred.Valid Arizona driver’s license.Able to prepare, analyze, and accurately present financial capital asset data and depreciation for a complex entity or multiple entities, working with a fixed asset sub-ledger and general ledger.Proven Microsoft Excel and Word skills. Excellent communication skills, both written and oral. Ability to translate financial issues. Excellent quantitative, analytical, systemic and problem solving skills. Ability to learn very quickly, with little direction.Strong interpersonal skills with an emphasis on initiative, knowledge sharing, team building, and decision making. Strong leadership skills, including ability to work effectively with all levels throughout the organization and across functional lines.  Strong management skills for planning, organizing and communication.  Ability to handle confidential or sensitive information according to Company policies.Be viewed as a credible source of Accounting / Finance
