This is a salaried position. Overview POSITION SUMMARY: The Accountant II is responsible for completing accounting for specific functional areas, which includes but is not limited to cash, investments, debt, payroll, accruals, fixed assets, leases, and non-patient billing. Responsible for various tasks such as account reconciliations, monthly close activities, internal and external audit requests, cost report requests, and other projects related to these functional areas. PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITY: Performs moderately complex and routine accounting activities specific to functional area. Completes reconciliations specific to functional area. Conducts training to others within functional area and serves as an escalation point for Accountant I. Develops and applies policies, internal control, standard templates, methodologies, and standard processes to ensure compliance and consistency amongst the functional team. Acts as point of contact on moderately complex accounting related issues for functional area. Ensures accurate and timely reporting of transactions in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Performs work in collaboration with Accounts Payable, Payroll, and Specialty Accounting. Provides necessary information related to functional area to assist with internal and external audit requests, including footnotes and other regulatory reports, cost report requests, and other project related tasks. Qualifications REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Education: Bachelor of Science in Accounting, Finance, or Business Experience: 2 years of accounting experience. Other Skills/ Knowledge: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Solid computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft software. Strong analytical and problem solving skills, with the ability to be detail oriented. Demonstrated knowledge of and experience in finance, accounting (including GAAP), and effective internal controls.
