The Operations Program consists of the Fiscal Services Section, the Business Services Unit, and the Communications and Special Projects Unit. This position is within the Fiscal Services Section. The Fiscal Services Section services include, but are not limited to: accounting, contract management, budgeting, time and effort tracking, grants/funds management, revenue billing/invoicing, financial reporting, accounts receivables invoices, time and effort reporting, supplies/equipment/services procurement, personnel administration, and fleet coordination. What You'll Be Doing: This position serves as one of the accountants for the division and functions as a member of the Fiscal Services Section. The position’s primary responsibilities are to accurately and timely process the division’s journal transactions and grant budget documents which includes the daily input of data into CORE, provide analysis and monitoring of division wide expenditures and processes all the WQCD billing on a weekly and yearly basis. This position must assure compliance with applicable rules, regulations, department and state procedures. This position is an integral staff contact for division staff members on entry issues and interacts with all levels of staff within the department with regards to accounts payable problems and questions. This position will also aide in external reporting requests, payables spreadsheets and audit requests as applicable. This position also is responsible for assisting with classifying, recording, and reconciling accounts payable accounts. This position serves as an integral role in the Fiscal Services Unit, assisting the team and division with accounts payable duties, payable reconciliations, expenditures postings, account payable processing, and reconciliations for month, quarter, and year end. Minimum Qualifications, Substitutions, Conditions of Employment & Appeal Rights There are four ways you can qualify for this position: (Option 1) Six (6) years of full time professional accounting or auditing experience.( Substitution ) OR (Option 2) Graduation from an accredited institution with a bachelor's degree in Accounting or Auditing, or a bachelors degree that which included 27 semester hours of accounting or auditing coursework; AND Two (2) years of full time professional accounting or auditing experience.( Minimum Qualification ) OR (Option 3) Current valid licensure as a CPA by the Colorado Board of Accountancy.( Substitution ) OR (Option 4) A master's degree in Accounting or Auditing from an accredited institution. Current, valid licensure as a CPA by the Colorado Board of Accountancy will substitute for the degree requirement and two years of the professional accounting experience.
