General Summary

This position provides advanced professional accounting support to the General Accounting department related to the maintenance, processing and analysis of accounting records in a manner consistent with company policies and procedures.

Essential Job Accountabilities

Establish, interpret, and analyze complex accounting records to support strategic decision making and ensure compliance with GAAP

Prepare, review, and post journal entries to support the monthly close process

Review of financial reports to ensure the accuracy and clarity of information presented

Prepare selected balance sheet reconciliations, and analysis, to ensure accuracy and compliance with GAAP

Participate in monthly review of financial package to ensure the accuracy of financial information and to assist in strategic decision making

Respond to inquiries from Management/Executives, related to monthly financial package, to ensure clear communication and high level of customer service  

Assist Manager with research related inquiries to support strategic decision making

Perform special projects and additional assignments, as assigned, to support the department

Participate in cross training efforts that support personal development and provide departmental coverage


Education

Bachelors Degree, preferably in Accounting, required

CPA designation a plus

Work Experience

5+ years of progressive accounting experience 

Large enterprise system experience (JD Edwards/Oracle e1 experience a plus).


Knowledge, skills, and abilities

Advanced technical knowledge of US GAAP

Excellent MS Office Suite skills and advanced computer spreadsheet skills

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with demonstrated ability to provide creative solutions to real-time challenges

Attention to detail, quick learner and internally motivated to seek out answers, generate ideas, and develop new skills.

Ability to work in high production environment and respond quickly and effectively under pressure, changing priorities and tight timelines/deadlines

Strong written and oral communication skills to effectively disseminate information

Team player who can operate effectively within a matrix management environment

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, sit and use hands to operate a computer keyboard. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and ability to adjust focus. Base Salary Range: 

$79,150.00 - $118,726.00

Pay may vary based upon relevant experience, skills, location, and education among other factors.
