Job Description

SchoolMint is seeking an experienced Accountant III. The Accountant III will work on a team with diverse backgrounds, operating in a fast-paced, multi-location and team-oriented environment and reporting to the Controller.

The Accountant III is pivotal in ensuring accurate and timely monthly financial reporting. They will be a hands-on individual who enjoys digging into details, identifying areas of improvement, and takes the initiative to implement those improvements.

 

Responsibilities:

Prepare accurate and timely monthly journal entries in accordance with professional standards Ensure accurate and up-to-date work papers Reconcile and maintain balance sheet accounts Perform month-end and year-end close activities Ensure financial data integrity by reconciling data between multiple data sources Calculate commissions on a monthly basis Reconcile and file sales, use and general excise taxes Process payroll on a semi-monthly basis Reconcile, review and ensure payroll tax compliance Reconcile credit card statements and ensure receipt of supporting documentation Assist with 1099 filings Assist with tax filing of all required tax returns and other statutory filings Ensuring consistent accounting controls and processes are implemented Identify areas for process improvements Support of external financial audit Other duties as assigned


About You: 

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required, CPA a plus Advance knowledge of Microsoft Excel; experience with Google Sheets a plus Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with different levels of employees Ability to work well in a fast paced environment with project deadlines 4+ years of experience in an accounting or finance role, preferably in a fast-paced technology software environment Strong analytical and communication (oral and written) skills Strong organizational skills, attentive to detail, and ability to multitask Quick learner with the ability to work with little or no supervision Ability to identify and help implement potential process improvements and controlsIn-depth understanding of US GAAP Experience in ASC 606 and ASC 842 preferred Experience in Sage Intacct ERP a plus Experience with Salesforce.com CRM a plus Experience with SaaS preferred
