Primary Function

The Accountant III will perform a variety of activities in the preparation, examination, and interpretation of accounting and financial records, reports, and statements. This senior level incumbent will be involved with the complex activities related to general ledger, budget, end closing, and other financial analyses compliant with all Company and GAAP policies. This person may or may not have supervisory/lead responsibilities.

Responsibilities Prepare  or oversight of daily cash reports. Prepare bank reconciliations for all operating, disbursement, payroll, and investment accounts. Prepare specific monthly journal entries, sales tax returns, and warranty expense account analysis. Analyze and reconcile any discrepancies within the general accounting functions. Prepare specific audit schedules and assist with annual audit as required. Reconcile audit findings and assist in the development of new related procedures. Maintain the internal audit program for Sales and Accounts Payable. Provide research assistance as required and respond to inquiries and requests from internal and external sources. Assist as backup for Payroll, daily invoicing, and sales updating. Observe all procedures and policies in accordance with GAAP, company policy, and federal/state regulations. Perform more complex accounting activities in accordance with accounting principles and standards to control the organization's financial resources and ensure that it complies with all relevant regulations, laws, and reporting requirements.  Reconcile more complex accounts and check the accuracy of journal entries to ensure that the general ledger is accurate and complete. Check and analyze financial information and prepare more complex financial reports and accounting statements so that senior management has accurate and timely information for making financial decisions. These reports may include profit and loss statements, balance sheets, depreciation statements, cash flow, debtor and creditor lists, repayment schedules, regulatory reports and filings.   Provide technical accounting advice within area of expertise to functional or operational areas managers to help them develop revenue and expense budgets, understand financial reports, and manage their financial responsibilities. Coach less experienced accounting staff and help them resolve problems. Perform other activities as needed or as requested.  Qualifications Bachelor's Degree 5+ years related work experience Familiarity with all applicable principles, regulations, and laws including GAAP, tax laws, and payroll laws Ability to read and interpret documents and data Strong communication skills both orally and written Proficiency with MS Excel and Word and accounting software Ability to maintain confidentiality of information and documents Education Bachelor's DegreeYears of Experience Minimum of 5 years related work experienceWe Offer
