Accountant Senior - RemoteJob Description

The Senior Accountant - Rebates is responsible for performing month-end/year-end close processes as well as providing reporting and analysis to inform decision-making and ensure GL accuracy. This position participates in the full scope of accounting duties related to rebate transactions. This position regularly interacts with, and provides financial support to, departments across the organization and is visible to all levels of the Controller leadership team.

Responsibilities

Prepare complex journal entries and balance sheet reconciliationsCreate meaningful and actionable variance commentaryInterpret accounting results, identify problems, and recommend solutions to managementAssess reasonableness of financial estimates related to accruals, reserves, guarantees, and other judgmental activityReview and assess the impacts of new client contracts and product offerings to ensure that accounting treatment complies with company policies and GAAPMaintain and enhance the documentation of accounting processes and internal controlsSupport the financial statement and other audits related to rebate accounting operationsOther duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Accounting or related area of study or equivalent combination of education and/or work experience; HS diploma or GED is required5 years of relevant experienceMust be eligible to work in the United States without need for work visa or residency sponsorship

Additional Qualifications

Advanced knowledge of Excel (including v-lookups, pivot tables and other complex formulas)Advanced analytical capabilityAdvanced accounting, GAAP and FASB knowledgeAbility to interpret business needs and resultsExperience with large ERP systems

Preferred Qualifications

CPA, MBA, or CMA (Certified Management Accountant)Experience with legal contract review and interpretationExperience with intercompany journal entriesIntermediate level knowledge of PowerPoint

Reporting Structure

Reports to Manager or Director in Controllership department

Potential pay for this position ranges from $74,500.00 - $111,700.00 based on experience and skills. Pay range may vary by 8% depending on applicant location.
