The Accountant Sr role for Apache Corporation will be a member of Apache’s accounting organization and perform higher level analysis, reconciliations, and reviews focused on monthly financial close responsibilities, ad hoc projects and system implementations, and internal reporting.

This role will be primarily responsible for the following:

Prepares and analyzes monthly share-based compensation entries and common stock/dividend activity. Gathers, consolidates, and analyzes financial data for distribution in SEC or FASB regulatory filings. Prepares balance sheets, cash flow statements, statement of equity, or other financial reports or related disclosure. Reviews financial documents or filings for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with relevant controls including SOX. Assists with preparation of statutory filings and audits. Preparation of government census reports and surveys on a regular/ad-hoc basis. Provides support and assistance to internal and external auditors as needed. May assist with month/year end close or general ledger reconciliation. Qualifications & Experience

The successful candidate will have the following qualifications and experience:

Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Knowledge and experience in SAP, OneStream, Blackline, and/or Workiva/WDesk experience a plus. Outstanding communication, interpersonal, management, administrative, organizational, and leadership skills. Analytical thinking skills. Mathematical skills. Accounting skills. Detail oriented. Performs work under minimal supervision. Handles complex issues and problems and refers only the most complex issues to higher-level staff. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting 6+ years of professional financial accounting or auditing experience in the oil and gas industry. Experience implementing sound decisions when faced with multi-faceted problems. Holding or actively pursuing CPA designation preferred.
