SUMMARY:

Tyson Foods has an exciting opportunity for a Plant Accounting Administrator.  The candidate will be a go-to person for anything related to plant accounting and a backup to other plant clerks.  The successful candidate takes the lead to get the results that are needed, ensuring that all aspects are efficient and accurate.  This is a multi-task environment where your attention to detail can really shine and make a difference. 

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:  This position will be responsible for compiling daily, weekly and monthly financial and statistical data inputs and meeting all deadlines. This will include gaining knowledge of several systems used for plant accounting. The successful candidate must be able to learn all aspects of plant accounting in a timely manner. This individual must possess good data entry skills utilizing Excel spreadsheets and be able to audit and make corrections to these spreadsheets and their formulas.  The individual may be responsible for other duties as assigned by Controller, including backing up other positions.

DIFFICULTY OF DUTIES:  Work activities are variable and require judgment to complete tasks such as:  setting priorities, evaluating results, maintaining confidentiality, and coordinating with others.  Assignments are defined and the approach to be taken is usually determined in coordination with others.  This position has set policies and procedures in place for the performance of those duties, and good judgment and proper documentation must be used at all times. 

REQUIREMENTS:

Education: Associates degree preferred. Knowledge of mathematics, grammar, office equipment and business practices required.

Experience: 3+ years of accounting experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Computer Skills: Basic computer skills required; must be proficient at MS Office & Excel; must possess good data entry skills in Excel spreadsheets and be able to audit and make changes to Excel formulas. SAP Experience preferred, but not required.

Communication Skills: Must possess excellent written and verbal communication.

Travel: May require travel to other local complex sites at the direction of the Complex Controller.

Special Skills: Responsible for analyzing and solving problems. 10 key by touch, keen attention to detail, ability to keep paperwork organized, ability to thrive in a multi-task and deadline-focused environment, ability to work independently and take initiative, while exhibiting teamwork.
