Location Description The Hotel Roanoke & Conference Center is a magnificent and storied hotel nestled in the heart of Roanoke, Virginia. Built in 1882, the Tudor-style hotel is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is a member of the International Association of Conference Centers. Boasting a total of 329 luxuriously appointed guest rooms and suites, the Hotel Roanoke & Conference Center offers a range of accommodation options to suit the needs of every guest. Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Agent to join our Accounting Department. The ideal candidate has at least one year of payroll experience, with hotel accounting experience preferred. Strong attention to detail, accuracy, confidentiality, and excellent customer service skills are essential. Payroll Duties Process bi-weekly payroll, including daily charge tip reconciliation and weekly uploads. Attend weekly virtual payroll meetings and stay updated on payroll procedures. Update and maintain the Payroll Manual as needed. Maintain and file time edits, corrections, and payroll records. Ensure payroll accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance. Assist managers, supervisors, and employees with payroll-related inquiries. Prepare and reconcile voluntary deduction reports (FSA, HSA, childcare, 401K, etc.). Maintain payroll files and track manual/voided payroll checks. General Cashier Duties Prepare and reconcile daily deposits. Monitor cashier overages and shortages. Conduct monthly audits of cashier banks and maintain signed bank contracts. Ensure adequate change is available for cashiers. Process petty cash reimbursements and prepare journal entries. Perform daily safe counts and reconcile with the Assistant Director of Finance. Qualifications Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum two years of experience in Accounting, Bookkeeping, or Hotel Front Office (payroll experience preferred). Proficiency with ten-key by touch. Knowledge of Workday is a plus. Strong time management and communication skills. Additional Responsibilities Support the Accounting team with guest inquiries, income audits, and accounts payable.
