The Accounting Analyst will be responsible for Payroll Banking, Deductions, and Banking Analyst.  This role will be supporting the UAW Hourly Payroll. 

Must be able to come into the office 3x a week.

What you'll do…

Direct Deposit Related responsibilities, including: Request of ACH Deletions and Reversals, involving active participation with the Earnings team and the bank. ACH Returns and Notice of Changes Requests made by the bank, which include daily interactions with PeopleFirst HR team.  Assisting in manual one-off direct deposit payments and prenotes, which involve daily interactions with HR, HR IT, integration team, and the bank.  Manual balance adjustments for tax corrections and corrections of W-2s for prior tax years in the payroll system, including and not limited to:  Unearned wages that are repaid, requiring interactions with the Earnings team within Payroll, Cash Application team, and Receivables team.  Legal settlements, working closely with the Office of General Counsel  State employment/residency, FICA exempt/non-exempt, and Federal tax corrections & refunds; requiring active participation with HR and the payroll help desks.  Assist with the process of the year-end W-2 issuance, including but not limited to: Working closely with internal and external partners to ensure that all required information is included on a W-2 (i.e. W-2 printing company, Ford IT team, Ford Communications, etc.) Maintaining and updating the timetable (checklist) that tracks all W-2 year-end tasks to ensure all items are completed timely. Setting up and managing reoccurring status meetings with Payroll Business and IT. Conducting multiple rounds of audits and testing to ensure accuracy of W-2s.  Responsible for the hourly and salary payroll (simulation) payroll audits prior to the payroll runs and after the runs.  Review variance analysis prepared by the accounting analyst for certain tax deductions (i.e. FICA, Federal, State of Employment, State of Residency, etc.) and prepare an explanation of variance, if and when needed.   Act as backup for International Services Employees (ISE) Analyst on the ISE Receivables Aging and Reserve Analysis.  Assist in testing of the deductions and earnings configuration, including the inbound interface files, for the new payroll system set to launch in April 2025. Work closely with Tax and Deductions Team Lead to assume projects such as: Deceased employees wage and tax correction and issuance of 1099 tax forms to Next of Kin.  Preparation of Payroll Cash Subledgers for the reconciliation team.
