Our client, a leader in the manufacturing industry in Winnipeg, has partnered with Aplin to hire an Accounting Analyst for an immediate opportunity to cover for a maternity leave for an immediate one year term.
Benefits & PerksExcellent opportunity to join a large organization as an Accounting Analyst Onsite position Monday to Friday Free parkingA highly competitive starting salary and benefits planPotential to extend ResponsibilitiesMaintain bank reconciliations for multiple bank accounts across several business reporting units.Prepare payroll journal entries and analyze payroll clearing general ledger accounts on a monthly basis.Maintain monthly prepaid account reconciliations and supplier rebate accruals.Prepare monthly inventory work-in-process and volume variance reconciliations along with related journal entries.Oversee general ledger transactions for the Canadian, US and Mexican business units.Prepare various other regular and accrual journal entries on a monthly basis including those related to outside warehouse sales, operating supplies, and allocations.Prepare monthly sales reconciliations of COGNOS based sales reports to the general ledger.Prepare monthly working papers and balance sheet account reconciliations ; assist in the preparation of year-end audit files.Prepare various manual inter-company invoices on a periodic basis.Assist in the periodic review of general ledger activity for potential errors that can occur during the manual data entry of supplier invoices.Complete US State annual report filings and remit / track US State income tax installment payments.Working as a team, analyze and review overhead rates, operating costs, and assist in preparing the annual budget, internal and external reporting.Participate in special department projects and other duties as assigned.Perform duties and responsibilities compliant with ISO 9001 and SQF 2000 standards.Qualifications5 plus years of accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.Previous experience in an analytical finance position with the ability to dissect large volumes of data is preferred.Experience with integrated accounting and manufacturing systems would be an asset.Strong organization skills with the ability to work under minimal supervision and within tight deadlines.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, able to deal with multiple levels within an organization including individuals directly working in manufacturing operations.Ability to multitask and learn new software easily.Advanced knowledge of MS Office and Excel.
