Your role @CHANEL:
Acting as a strategic partner, the Finance Controlling Manager will work closely with the local leadership team in Poland and Czech Republic and the Finance Management Team in Germany to ensure rigorous financial performance management and contribute to the long-term sustainability and development of the subsidiaries.
With the ever-changing business environment and technologies, there have been significant changes in the role of the Business Finance function, as it pivots towards a more predictive and analytical future as opposed to descriptive analysis.
We shall no longer just report the news but help making the news. Connect the internal and external insights and proactively drive and shape the governance of the local, regional or global agendas for business discussions.
What impact you can create at Chanel:
Drive the process and development of Monthly/Quarterly forecasts, Budgets, Latest Estimates, and MTP plans (data collection, reviewing and challenging, validation, and reporting).
Conduct budget monitoring and variance analysis. Provide accurate, reliable, timely business Dashboards and comments for business performance. Support and contribute to regular MBRs, ensuring financial and qualitative KPIs are met. Deliver analysis and insights on business opportunities, providing options and scenarios for business decisions.
Monitor the external environment such as macroeconomic factors and competitors’ movements, recommending appropriate strategic actions where applicable.
Prepare the accuracy of the management reporting package ensuring correct transformation of local financial statements to IFRS (accruals, provisions, reclasses, adjustments) within group and statutory deadlines & guidelines.
Ensure successful annual audit completion, including revision of prepared answers and necessary documents.
Manage the accounting team (Poland and Czech Republic) and drive the development of local accounting policies and approaches in accordance with statutory and company requirements and rules. Ensure compliance with all finance policies.
Ensure the implementation of an optimum and safe tax policy, regulation of relations with tax authorities, and preparation of necessary documentation and calculations for transfer pricing.
Integrate risk management controls and compliance reviews within the functions.
Collaborate on the implementation and evolution of tools/systems/software with local, regional and global IT Teams.
Adapt, customize, and improve existing reports & tools Ensuring standardization of processes in GER&CEE markets through close collaboration and coordination with team lead Acc.&FinRep. in GER.
Guarantee the accuracy of financial data in systems.
Work closely with sustainability Sustainability Manager in GER&CEE markets to align financial performance with sustainability objectives, embedding metrics into financial planning and reporting processes.
Drive the development and consolidation of non-financial performance indicators for internal and external reporting.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to collect and validate sustainability-related data.
Review Capex projects, provide relevant benchmarks, and identify optimization opportunities, including follow-up analyses.
Prepare impactful ad hoc analysis and presentations for new business initiatives.

As a manager you will be responsible for a small team of 2 accountants.
What you will bring:
A university degree in Finance/Accounting, Business Administration, or related disciplines is preferred.
Thorough knowledge of accounting, financial planning, and analysis concepts and principles.
Minimum 7 years working experience, inclusive of 2-3 years of managerial experience.
Solid experience in the retail or FMCG industry.
Extensive experience in the finance department of a multinational company.
Strong background in Accounting, Tax & Controlling and Budget Analysis, with hands-on experience in finance systems.
