Type: Non-exempt

Compensation: $21.44- $30.00 per hour(Skookum's compensation strategy is to position new employees between the minimum and midpoint of this range, depending on qualifications and experience.)

Work Schedule: Full-time, Monday – Friday 7:30am – 4:00pm (flexible start and end times depending on scheduling needs. This is a hybrid position.)

As an Accounting Associate you'll… assist with a wide range of accounting tasks, including general ledger maintenance, accounts payable and accounts receivable. They work closely with the finance team to ensure accurate and timely recording of financial transactions and support the organization’s financial goals and objectives.

Assist with general ledger, accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including invoice processing, payment processing, and reconciling financial transactions.

Record monthly banking transitions including interest, credit card fees, loan payments and transfers.

Reconcile bank statements to ensure accuracy and completeness.

Enter loan amortization schedules into accounting system.

Manage and process yearly fleet registration renewals for all vehicles in various states.

Support fixed assets process, facilitate paperwork, and coordinate with Staff Accountants.

Assemble, review, and verify invoices and checks for weekly check run.

Support the month-end and year-end close processes by entering journal entries and assisting with account reconciliations.

Support the preparation of financial reports and analysis by gathering and organizing financial data.

Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in the accounting software or ERP system.

Collaborate with other departments to resolve accounting-related inquiries or issues.

Stay up to date on accounting standards, regulations, and best practices to ensure compliance and accuracy in financial reporting.

Organize and prioritize work based on business needs and competing timelines.

Communicates effectively with employees inside and outside of the department to accomplish goals for the team.

Demonstrate ability to multi-task throughout the day with constant interruptions.

Summary of desired skills and experience for the Skookum Accounting Associate:

Associate’s Degree in Accounting or Finance, required

0 – 3 years of previous relatable experience, required

Combination of previous experience and education allowed

A valid state driver’s license is required with the ability to obtain and maintain coverage by Skookum’s insurance.

Must be able to obtain and maintain applicable security clearances and installation access. A background check and E-Verify will be conducted for this position.
