Accounting Associate

Description:

Responsible for assisting in the development and maintenance of accurate financial information for assigned areas, general ledger account analysis and reconciliations. Acting as a support to the overall functions of the Finance department. Responsible for assisting the Director of Finance and accountants with the preparation and maintenance of timely and accurate financial information. This position also requires analytical expertise to support requests from the financial analyst and other departments of the hospital.

Minimum Qualifications

Associate degree in accounting, Business, Finance, or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.2 plus years accounting or business experience; healthcare exposure preferred

Additional Qualifications

Working knowledge of basic accounting principles and practices (US GAAP) and conducting financial analysis including experience in researching and analyzing accounting issues.Experience working with various computer accounting systems and ability to effectively operate within Microsoft office suite.Special Skills and Competencies: Excel spreadsheet experience is required.  Strong knowledge of spreadsheet and computer accounting systems, banking, and database applications in addition to ten-key is required.Good interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills are required. The ability to use critical thinking skills to solve problems encountered in job tasks is required  Previous experience retrieving data from multiple systems and converting information for use in various other reports is required.The ability to organize and prioritize work in a diverse, fast paced environment while working on multiple projects simultaneously and to complete assignments according to established timeframes is required.The ability to work independently on monthly job tasks is required.Ability to work well with people and secure a high degree of cooperation on a variety of duties.Ability to exercise considerable tact and discretion when dealing with sensitive issues and confidential information.Must have strong verbal and written communication skills.  Must be comfortable operating in a collaborative, shared leadership environment.Must possess a personal presence that is characterized by a sense of honesty, integrity, and caring with the ability to inspire and motivate others to promote the philosophy, mission and vision, goals, and values of Trinity Health

Hourly Pay Range: $18.84 - $28.26
