Pay Range: $55000 - $65000 / year
Position Summary
Responsible for assisting the Assistant Controller with financial close activities and various duties in supporting Major Projects Accounting and Finance functions. The position will work to ensure the accuracy and integrity of accounting transactions and information.
Primary/Essential Responsibilities and Duties
• Assist with month-end closing activities including journal entries, month-end accruals, GL balance and Sub-ledger verifications and account analysis.
• Prepare monthly account reconciliations.
• Purchase Card (P-card) accounting, analysis and reconciliations.
• Process weekly equipment utilization, journal entries, research, reconciliation and reporting
• Assist with reconciliation of intercompany billings and intercompany accounts payable transactions.
• Assist and interacts with Project Management and their support staff regarding accounts payable, and accounts receivable functions.
• Provides administrative support for accounts payable including coding and posting accounts payable invoices; forwarding invoices for approval; maintaining AP files by vendors, reconciling statements and payable amounts.
• Reconciling weekly cash requirement report, processing and maintaining documentation and records control for purchase orders regarding suppliers and subcontractors.
• Maintain files and documentation thoroughly and accurately, in accordance with company policy and accepted accounting practices.
• Assist the Assistant Controller in review and implementation of new systems and processes as needed.
Required Skills and Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting or related field with experience in a corporate accounting setting
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience related to the accounting field.
• Experience working in ERP Systems. Knowledge of JDE, a plus.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
• Knowledge of general ledger functions, accounts payable, account receivable and payroll systems and procedures.
• Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize competing demands/requests within given time constraints.
• Strong analysis and problem-solving skills; detail oriented.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to interact with employees and vendors in a professional manner.
• Ability to work in a high-volume environment with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness.

• Frequently speaks, reads, writes and uses a computer keyboard.
• May require occasional standing, walking, lifting, stooping, or bending.
