Accounting Associate
Kitware, Inc. is actively seeking an Accounting Associate to provide general accounting and administrative support. The Accounting Associate will be primarily responsible for completing monthly general ledger reconciliations, making journal entries, grant financial reporting, asset tracking, and certain tax reporting. This position will also be responsible for performing a variety of other accounting and administrative duties in support of the Company's continued growth.In This Position You Will:Apply GAAP and Company accounting policies to perform accounting tasks, reconciliations, and analyses, as well as other month-end duties related to the closing process.Prepare monthly reconciliations, including but not limited to bank reconciliations, life insurance, fixed assets, FSA, COBRA, payroll, etc. Prepare monthly/quarterly/annual sales and use tax filings and associated ledger entries.Prepare various schedules in support of annual income tax filings.Prepare quarterly financial reporting for government awards.Serve as backup to other accounting functions such as payroll, expense reporting, accounts payable, budgeting, etc. Play an integral role in the asset tracking workflow.Assist with audit requests from internal departments and external auditors.Assist with additional projects and functions as determined by management.Required Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business.2-3 years of related experience.Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and basic to intermediate accounting applications software. Meticulous organizational and time management skills and attention to detail.Strong work ethic and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.Excellent interpersonal skills and a team player.Public accounting experience a plus.$60,000 - $75,000 a yearCompany Description:Kitware is a research and development software solutions provider with a mission to advance science, make a positive impact, and share our results all within a collaborative, employee-focused work environment that is friendly, fair, and flexible.
