Overview: The Accounting Associate is responsible for providing comprehensive support to both members and internal staff in the daily operations of payment functions. This role ensures adherence to all regulatory, compliance, departmental, and credit union policies. The associate will also collaborate with other business units within Operations to maintain a high level of member service.
Key Responsibilities:
Support daily payment operations, including mailed transactions, check processing, remote deposits, ATM deposits, wire transfers, and ACH file processing.Review and research payment exceptions and make decisions based on guidelines and policies.Process and reconcile various payment transactions, ensuring accuracy and compliance.Handle member inquiries and perform necessary account adjustments.Maintain accurate records and documentation for all transactions and reconciliations.Ensure timely and secure transmission of payment files to relevant institutions.Address and resolve service requests in a timely manner, maintaining high member service standards.Compile and maintain statistical reports and data for departmental use.Report any instances of non-compliance to management promptly.Foster strong working relationships with other departments to resolve issues efficiently.Stay updated on industry developments, regulatory changes, and technological advancements.Qualifications:
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in processing transactions.Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.Effective communication and interpersonal skills.Proficiency in relevant payment processing systems and software.Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $20.75/hr.
