Description We are in search of an Accounting Clerk to join our team based in San Diego, California. This role is within the Non-Profit industry and offers a long-term contract employment opportunity. As an Accounting Clerk, your main responsibilities will involve handling various tasks related to accounting, such as processing accounts payable and payroll, maintaining organized accounting files, and assisting in preparation for annual accounting audits. Responsibilities • Accurately process accounts payable, including invoice review for approvals and cost allocations, and prepare weekly payments for timely submission. • Handle bi-weekly payroll processing, including timely and accurate input of personnel changes into the system, and review timesheets for completion, time allocation, and approvals. • Maintain comprehensive and organized accounts payable and payroll files. • Prepare and submit checks received via remote deposit on a weekly basis and record these deposits in the accounting system. • Record accounts receivable charges and invoices into the accounting system biweekly. • Execute month-end journal entries. • Assist in preparing for the annual accounting audit. • Support the administration team as required. • Undertake any other duties or special projects as assigned. Requirements • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a similar role within the non-profit sector • Proficiency in account reconciliation is a must • Experience with accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) is required • Familiarity with billing procedures is necessary • Must be proficient in data entry and have a keen eye for detail • Experience in invoice processing is essential • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required • Familiarity with Oracle is a plus • Experience with QuickBooks will be considered favorably • Knowledge of SAP is desirable Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
